PAPA JOHN’S PRESENTS CHECK TO THE JANIS FOLIGNO FOUNDATION

At the last home game of the regular season, Papa John’s of Central Ohio had a check ready to present to the Janis Foligno Foundation in the amount of $17,250. However just before the presentation, Nick Foligno scored his 26th goal, adding to the total donation!

This donation is a combination of Nick’s 26 goals and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Defender pizza during the hockey season. All donations will be given to the Janis Foligno Foundation, an organization that supports local charities and research projects committed to finding a cure for cancer, and which provide care and treatment to those battling the disease.

And as the Jackets head into the postseason Papa John’s is doubling down to fight cancer! For each goal Nick scores during the postseason, we will donate $1,000 to the Janis Foligno Foundation!

OUR CAPTAIN, NICK FOLIGNO SCORES 26 GOALS

On Thursday April 6, 2017 Nick scored his 26th goal of the 2016-2017 season. Papa John’s is proud to partner with Nick and donate to the Janis Foligno Foundation for each goal he scores this season.

All season long, as you pile on the pepperoni with our Defender pizza, Papa John’s will pile on the donation. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Defender pizza will be donated to the Janis Foligno Foundation. The additional donation will complement the ongoing Papa John’s support already given for each Nick Foligno goal.

Papa John’s will donate $500 for every goal Nick Foligno scores during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 Blue Jackets season. All donations will be given to the Janis Foligno Foundation, an organization that supports local charities and research projects committed to finding a cure for cancer, and which provide care and treatment to those battling the disease.

PAPA JOHN’S® DOUBLES DOWN ON #FOLIGNO500

Columbus, Ohio, March 29, 2017 – Charles Burris, Vice President/Operating Partner of Papa John’s of Central Ohio, is excited to announce the expansion of Foligno500 for the upcoming postseason.

#Foligno500 was created through Papa John’s Partnership with Nick Foligno, Captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Throughout the 2016-17 season, every time Nick scored a goal, Papa John’s donated $500 to the Janis Foligno Foundation, an organization that supports local charities and research projects committed to finding a cure for cancer. The foundation also provides care and treatment to those battling the disease.

So far in the 2016-17 season, Nick’s goal scoring has generated $12,000 in donations to the Janis Foligno Foundation from Papa John’s Pizza. To add to this, John Buccigross from ESPN has committed, via Twitter, to match the donation given by Papa John’s. Thank You Bucci!

“Our family can’t thank Charles and Michelle and the Papa John’s family enough for their support of the Janis Foligno Foundation and our fight against cancer,” said Foligno. “Their commitment has allowed us to continue our work to help those affected by cancer with the many services we support, but most importantly their contributions aid in the research to help find a cure for this horrible disease.”
As Nick Foligno and the Columbus Blue Jackets gear up for the postseason, Papa John’s will be doubling down on their donation. We call it #Foligno1000! For every goal Nick scores during the postseason Papa John’s will donate an additional $1,000 to the Janis Foligno foundation. “We are excited to expand on the Foligno500 throughout the playoffs,” said Burris. “Nick had a great season and we hope he keeps it going. We are so extremely proud to support the great work of the Janis Foligno Foundation!” Go Nick! Go Jackets! Beat Cancer!

PAPA JOHN’S PARTNERS WITH BUCKEYE CRUISE FOR CANCER 2017

The 10th Annual Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, hosted by Coach Urban Meyer and his wife Shelley, had its largest fundraising year to date. The Cruise sold out, hosting more than 3,800 in attendance and raising over $2.5 million! The Buckeye Cruise for Cancer has now helped raised more than $12 million in the fight against cancer.

On opening night, forty-five former athletes were introduced, as well as a special recognition event held for over 400 cancer survivors. Among those present were former Buckeye greats, Robert Smith, A.J. Hawk, Dustin Fox, Bobby Carpenter, Archie Griffin, Zeke Elliott, Joshua Perry, and Anthony Schlegel, to name a few.

Hometown stars, Rascal Flatts headed up the national entertainment, performing a concert poolside for the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer guests. The cruise organized a 3-mile Run/1 mile walk fundraiser in Nassau with over 1,000 participants. It was a huge under-taking that involved the local government closing the streets and proclaiming it National Buckeye Day.

In addition to the fundraising onboard the Buckeye Cruise, there are several other events that contribute to this total for the cancer fund. Papa John’s is a proud contributor and supporter of the fundraising throughout the year with their many promotions and donations.
